Complisultis a backhanded compliment. When one makes a statement to another that is part compliment, part insult, we call the statement a complisult.
That's such a nice dress. It does wonders for your figure.
You are not the smartest person I know, but you are not the dumbest either.

Rectangle timeis the time of day when people in an obviously social setting instead choose to pull out their smart phones and have some time alone with their “rectangle”. The term can also apply to other electronics, such as computers, iPads, etc.
“Having some rectangle time there, I see,” she said to Luke, as he stared at the phone screen while sitting on a scenic beach.

Meatatarianis a person who eats meat virtually to the exclusion of vegetables. It is a reactionary term created in response to vegetarianism.
Waiter: “What can I get you?”
Mary: “A cheeseburger delux, hold the lettuce, tomato, coleslaw, and pickle.”
Waiter: “So you just want the burger and fries.”
Mary: “Yep, I'm a meatatarian.”

“Hotness hypnosis” refers to an act of finding someone so physically attractive that you overlook serious flaws in their personality.
Paul finally wakes from hotness hypnosis, starts to realize that Daisy is vain and selfish.

When someone brings up a topic when talking but immediately drops it and refuses to switch back to the dropped topic, leaving the other hanging in the middle of a conversation. This annoying thing is called “Conversational Blue Balls”.
“Goodness, did you hear about what happened?”
“What happened?”
“Anyways, I'm gonna go.”
“Wait, what happened?”
“Oh, don't worry about it.”
Dude, Jane TOTALLY gave me Conversational Blueballs yesterday. We were on AIM and she asked if I had heard about the party and she never answered when I asked about it.

An expenditure cascade occurs when the rapid income growth of top earners fuels additional spending by the lower earner wannabes. The cascade begins among top earners, which encourages the middle class to spend more which, in turn, encourages the lower class to spend more.
